Day Forty Six - Early Bird
I love getting up early in the morning….ok lemme stop. I HATE waking up early, but when I have to, I love how everything looks, and kinda the atmosphere of everything. Its soothing :)
Took this outside the Smithsonian Castle when I went to the DC tour for the Suiran students. Tiffany helped point out how the flowers had dew on them and stuff. So I went over and took a couple shots. Don’t expect any more pictures coming soon, I still dont have any models so still super unmotivated. But I haven’t given up on this…yet lol
Oh and Happy Spring Break to everyone! :D
the double arch in the chartreuse mountains, french alps.
very inspiring place.
Day Sixty Two - Twinkle Twinkle
I still don’t know how to make these :/
I went over Tiffany’s house to make brownies and she wanted to try the new lens I got so we took pictures of random stuff. These star origami things are really cool so I took some pictures of them. The shadow looks like a heart though! lol
Kinda tired of taking the same pictures over and over so I’ve been super unmotivated to go out and shoot. I want to try taking some portrait photos but everyone is too busy to model lol. But We’ll see.
Atomic Apple (must be viewed on black) :) on Flickr.
Im thinking this will be the last one in my fruit series for now. maybe i will revisit in the future… who knows… its been a lot of fun and i have learnt a surprising amount…
Thank you to everyone that has taken an interest and left comments… I hope you will continue giving feedback on my other work.
Anyway, so this is my “atomic Apple” basically i hollowed out the inside of the apple and fired my sb700 at 1/2 power through a rolled on black mouse matt. The apple was actually say on a mirror to give this affect. Not really anything special “photography wise”, but still a bit of fun i thought…
Enjoy :)
Im not sure if you did something with strawberries, but if not….you should do some strawberries lol.
Love the reflection in this!

iPod Right? on Flickr.
First off, yes i know this has been done to death… especially a while ago. but with the current fruit theme, i kinda thought i would give this ago. Ive worked on some strong black impact stuff, some genuine food photography, so i thought i would go back to basics with more of a concept idea.
One of the main things here i was working on was with a new colour backdrop. ive some a lot of white, so i found this a real challenge to get the lighting right… and to be honest its not as good as i thought it would turn out.
What do you guys thing, a little under exposed on the backdrop? a second light maybe? maybe a rim light?
Lighting: sb700, camera right high about 3 foot behind me at full power. (trying to get softer light)
